Sales Representative — Independent Contractor

Contract Monona, WI · Remote · Serving Madison & Dane County Remote

The Opportunity

No Limit Systems (NLS) is a Wisconsin-based managed IT services provider headquartered in Monona, serving businesses across Madison, Dane County, and the surrounding area. We deliver managed and co-managed IT, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, business phone systems, network infrastructure, IT consulting, and internet services. Our promise to clients is simple: one call, the rest gets handled.

We’re looking for an established, self-directed sales professional to grow their own book of business by bringing new B2B clients to NLS. This is an independent contractor engagement with uncapped, commission-only earning potential — built for entrepreneurial closers who run their own sales operation, set their own schedule, and want a strong local IT partner behind them.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect, qualify, and close new B2B clients across NLS’s full services portfolio: managed and co-managed IT, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, VoIP, and network infrastructure.
  • Run your own lead generation, outreach cadence, sales strategy, and CRM/pipeline tracking.
  • Conduct discovery calls, needs assessments, and solution presentations with prospective clients.
  • Partner with our technical team to scope proposals and produce accurate quotes — we handle the engineering; you focus on the relationship and the close.
  • Represent NLS at networking events, trade shows, and local business associations at your discretion.
  • Meet the mutually agreed sales benchmarks defined in your contract.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A proven B2B sales track record — experience selling technology, IT services, or managed services is a strong plus.
  • You already operate your own sales/consulting business, or are actively establishing one (workspace, equipment, marketing materials, and business identity).
  • A working understanding of the IT services landscape: managed IT, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, VoIP, and networking — enough to hold a consultative conversation with a business owner.
  • Strong consultative selling, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • An existing network in — or a demonstrated ability to build a book of business across — the Madison/Dane County market.
  • Comfort with performance-based, commission-only compensation and the autonomy that comes with it.

Compensation

This is a 100% commission engagement, paid per closed deal under a written independent contractor agreement. There is no base salary, hourly wage, draw, or guaranteed minimum. Commission rates, payment terms, and performance benchmarks are defined in the contract. Your earning potential is uncapped and tracks directly to what you close — the upside is real, and so is the responsibility for your own business expenses (transportation, phone, equipment, marketing, office, insurance, and taxes).

How This Engagement Works

This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. NLS is committed to full compliance with federal law (IRS guidelines, FLSA) and Wisconsin law (Wis. Stat. § 102.07(8); DWD worker-classification requirements), and classification is verified before any engagement begins.

Wisconsin’s nine-part test (Wis. Stat. § 102.07(8)) defines the kind of established independent professional this role is built for. To engage with NLS, you’ll meet and maintain all nine:

  1. Separate business. You operate your own business with your own office/workspace, equipment, and materials.
  2. FEIN or self-employment filing. You hold a Federal EIN or have filed business/self-employment tax returns for your work in the prior year.
  3. Work under contract. You work under a written contract for specific services and compensation, and you control the means and methods of the work.
  4. Bear your main expenses. You cover the primary costs of performing the work.
  5. Responsible for completion. You’re responsible for — and liable for — satisfactory completion of contracted work.
  6. Commission / per-job pay. You’re compensated on a commission, per-job, or competitive-bid basis, not hourly or salaried.
  7. Profit or loss. Your income isn’t guaranteed; you can realize a profit or take a loss.
  8. Recurring business liabilities. You carry ongoing business obligations (lease, insurance, professional fees, subscriptions) regardless of active NLS work.
  9. Receipts vs. expenditures. Your business’s success depends on the balance of its income against its expenses.

In practice, that means NLS does not withhold income, Social Security, or Medicare taxes; does not provide employee benefits (health insurance, retirement, paid time off, or workers’ compensation); and does not direct your hours, location, methods, sequence of work, or tools. You’re free to serve other clients at the same time. The relationship is governed by a written Independent Contractor Agreement executed by both parties before work begins.

How to Apply

If you meet the qualifications above and are ready to grow your sales business with a strong local IT partner, we’d like to hear from you.
