Common Questions From Wisconsin Schools

Do you handle E-rate documentation and vendor coordination?

Yes. We help schools and libraries through Category 1 broadband and Category 2 internal connections applications, coordinate with eligible service providers, document CIPA compliance, and supply the technical specifications USAC asks for. We are not an E-rate consultant, and we work alongside your consultant or filing service.

How do you size Wi-Fi for a classroom?

Density first. A thirty-student classroom on 1:1 devices needs an access point sized for at least sixty concurrent connections once you count student devices, the teacher, projectors, and IoT. We use Ubiquiti UniFi or Cisco Meraki access points placed every 1–2 classrooms with channel planning that avoids co-channel interference, and we model bandwidth for assessments and streaming.

What about FERPA and student data privacy?

FERPA shapes everything we build for a school. Role-based access to the student information system, audit logging for disclosure tracking, parent and guardian access management, and a tracked data privacy agreement for every ed-tech tool that touches student data.

Do you support Chromebook fleets?

Yes. Chromebook deployments run through Google Admin Console for enrollment, organizational unit policies, app deployment, and lifecycle. iPad fleets go through Jamf or Apple School Manager, and Windows devices through Intune.

How do you schedule work around the school calendar?

Carefully, and well ahead. Major work maps to summer, winter, or spring break depending on scope. Mid-semester we stick to additive work that cannot disrupt a classroom, such as imaging new devices, adding access points, or deploying security tooling. We do not push a major network change during the first or last week of a quarter.

Do you work with daycares and preschools?

Yes. Early childhood centers have their own mix: parent communication apps like Brightwheel, Procare, or Lillio, camera integration, secure parent and teacher messaging, child data privacy obligations, and PCI scope from tuition payments. We build to the smaller staff count and simpler operations rather than shrinking a school design.
